The first thing you MUST do is get your hamster a cage. Try to get a big one. They are catagorized under the rodent family, along with mice,rats,and beavers. Hamsters originated from the Syrian desert. They can go along time without water. By nature hamsters are scavengers(they had to be...living in the Syrian desert and all)they will scavenge for thier food. There are three common types of hamster, Russian dwarf, Syrian Otherwise known as the golden hamster, and the teddy bear. The russian dwarf is the smallest kind of hamster. The Syrian/golden is the biggest. The teddy bear is more in between. Female hamsters tend to get or be bigger than males. My golden hamster, Dana got mistaken for a guinea pig when I brought her to school once because she was so big. My friends hamster who is a boy is a little bigger though. So females are not ALWAYS bigger than the males. In the year 3000 they will probably be extinct, maybe sooner. There are white tigers and orange tigers. Siberian tigers are the biggest cats in the world. Tigers can live up to ten or twenty years old. They love the water. Tigers can weigh up to 450 pounds. They mark a small territory for themselves. They can have up to four babies. Baby tigers have to be six weeks old and then they leave the safety of their hidden home. They eat deer, buffalo and antelope and water buffalo and zebra.
